Press kit Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2012

On location shoot is indeed complicated. This experience is yet another lesson for me on how team effort plays a big role in pulling a shoot off successfully. Melchor and I had already been preparing for this shoot a month before the Philippine Fashion Week – Holiday 2012. He picked the theme “After work denizen” for his fashion show – the same theme which we used as well, for his press kit.
To better illustrate the theme, we decided to have the shoot in a bar or club setting. I helped with scouring a suitable location but it was Melchor’s team that made it happen. After several discussions, they sealed a deal with 7th High Club at the Bonifacio Global Citiy.
Priscilla of IM Model Management helped us on the models - Nadine, Diego, and Felipe. Hair and makeup was provided by Ivy together with her sister K, as her assistant; while on grooming we had Ramil. Melchor is known to be hands-on when it comes to styling his creations (i.e., set, models, mood, etc.) during the shoot. He even selected the specific area within the bar for the shoot, to ensure the theme comes alive.
The technical aspect was fairly simple. I used 3 lights - key, fill, and, background. I shot the whole story on Canon 5D with 24-70mm lens. F stop ranged between F8 to F11 keeping the shutter speed at about 125 sec. The most challenging for me was the equipment relocation and setup. Special thanks to my first assistant Ryan, second assistant Sy, and also to Zid of 7th High.
The pictures we made tell the story of team effort, perfect unity, and a bit of creativity, with no unnecessary frenzy or distractions. Again the success of this shoot would not have been possible if not for the collaboration of the entire team. Thanks to everyone who participated in this shoot.
