Some of you might know that I have been shooting press kits for Melchor Guinto for quite some time now. As we continue learning with fellow photographers in ShutterClique Photo Club and me pursuing Fashion-PRobe, I invited Melchor to feature his Fall/Winter Collection on this test shoot.
Fashion PRobe features Normannie “Manny” Santos – finalist of Project Runway Philippines Season 3 – whose 4 creations, including a wedding gown, are featured in this photo collection.
Fashion-PRobe features Nico Agustin – one of the founders and executive producers of Pilipinas Men's Fashion Week and the proprietor of Nico Agustin Menswear. Majority of his creations are geared toward menswear yet for this shoot he gave us a sneak peak on his ladies wear.
This season's theme "Nomades Courant", introduced us to another perspective of fashion designer Melchor Guinto. It mainly focused on plaid suits and trousers, and suits of lively, bright, and bold colors. I'm sure those who went to the show would understand why it is a different Mechor creation.
Fashion-PRobe features Jeffrey Rogador – a young Filipino fashion designer, an alumnus of Fashion Institute of the Philippines, and part of the prestigious Philippine Fashion Week since 2007. He's the winner of “The BEST” Jeans Award in JEANSATION-2.
You would probably ask why I have been shooting fashion and models without me getting any formal education on fashion photography. My simple response would be that I want to know first what I don’t know. Well, after all the independent shoots, which I did to unravel things I don’t know in fashion photography, I ended up wanting for more.
Last year I took the Fashion Photography Workshop with Raymund Isaac which improved my shooting skills. Others would ask me, “What are the photography workshops that I would recommend them taking?” and on top of my list is Raymund's workshop.
The year 2011 for ShutterClique photography club was concluded by the creative portraiture workshop facilitated by the seasoned fashion photographer Raymund Isaac.
The homme shoot has gotten our team of stylists very excited during its preparations and on the shoot day also, I wonder why.
Second project on FIP's Fashion Photography Course is about Lookbook and ready-to-wear clothing. Majority of the lookbooks today are using plain background and the focus is on the clothing. For this shoot we used plain background and colored gel lighting.
